Need mobility or home health care equipment temporarily after surgery, for a visiting relative, or before deciding to purchase? Ask about our rental and rent-to-own options.

If you decide you need the equipment long term, our rent-to-own program may be an option.
Angus Borden Guardian Pharmacy is an authorized Ontario Assistive Devices Program (ADP) vendor. If you require a walker for more than six months, you may qualify for funding toward a significant portion of the cost.
An assessment by a qualified therapist is required. Your CCAC, ODSP, Veterans Affairs or insurance provider may arrange an assessment, or ask us for information on local therapists who provide in-home assessments.

 If you have been diagnosed with Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes, you are eligible for MedsCheck for Ontarians Living with Diabetes, a program supported by the Ministry of Health and Long-term Care. During this one-to-one consultation, our pharmacists will offer advice and recommendations on:
• Proper medication use and storage
• Dealing with the addition or change of medications
• Proper blood glucose meter use and interpretation of results
• Blood sugar target levels
• Insulin pen training
• Diet and lifestyle modifications
• Assistance in joining a Diabetic Education Centre
• Assistance in finding foot care and other community diabetes resources
• Low blood sugar symptoms and treatment options
Take advantage of this service that is provided for FREE for patients with a valid OHIP card.

 Pharmacists in Ontario are authorized to prescribe certain drugs for treating specific minor ailments. The minor ailments that can be assessed by a pharmacist are:
• Acne (mild)
• Allergic rhinitis
• Aphthous Ulcers (canker sores)
• Calluses and corns
• Candidal stomatitis (oral thrush)
• Conjunctivitis (bacterial, allergic, or viral)
• Dermatitis (atopic/eczema, allergic, or contact)
• Diaper dermatitis
• Dry eye (xeropthalmia, dry eye disease)
• Dysmenorrhea
• Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)
• Hemorrhoids
• Herpes labialis (cold sores)
• Impetigo

Minor ailments are health conditions that can be managed with minimal treatment and/or self-care strategies. Additional criteria include:

• Usually a short-term condition
• Lab results aren’t usually required
• Low risk of treatment masking underlying conditions
• No medication or medical history red flags that could suggest a more serious condition
• Only minimal or short-term follow-up is required
